Since Disney is the parent company to ABC, over the summer of 2012 one could hardly turn on the network without seeing a commercial for The Neighbors.
In addition to the same promos that aired on ABC featuring clips from the pilot, the cast also appeared in an edition of "Disney 365" with Carlon Jeffery. The emphasis of the segment was on the show's younger cast members, and the children took Jeffery on a tour of the set, showing off oddities like a refrigerator full of books.
On December 28, 2012, Disney Channel aired a mini-marathon of The Neighbors during their "Fa-La-La-Lidays" holiday celebration. The marathon included the episodes Journey to the Center of the Mall, Bathroom Etiquette, Larry Bird and the Iron Throne and Thanksgiving Is for the Bird-Kersees. This marks only the third time that a current ABC show (After Boy Meets World and Desperate Housewives) has been aired on The Disney Channel. In 1995, the network ran a classroom-themed New Year's marathon that included episodes of Our Miss Brooks, Room 222, Square Pegs (with Neighbors star Jami Gertz) and the then-current ABC sitcom Boy Meets World. Ironically this was just prior to the ABC-Disney merger, but Boy Meets World is owned by Touchstone, also a Disney subsidiary.
